The location of the uncivil encounter is quite interesting, due to it taking place in a club. As stated in the course reading Incivility: The Rude Stranger in Everyday Life there are locations that an uncivil encounter is more likely to occur, for example, a public bar is ranked 8th out of 27 in Table 2.2 (a) (pg. 25). A club is an environment that has a constant flow of aggressive or rude behaviour and high consumption of alcohol, which can lead higher risk factors for an individual to have an incivil encounter. The bar can be seen is a place with constant movement occurring with the data collected in the interview comparing it to Table 3.6 of a victim who is moving and is alone is more likely to have an incivil encounter correlates with the interviews data (pg. 59). This can be seen with the stranger and the participant, for instance, the stranger yanked the participant hair with purposefully and no remorse this can show that she didn’t care if she hurt another person. With the participant just giving the stranger a dirty look and having a “let it go, it’s not that big of a deal” attitude this can be seen as a form of blasé attitude due to the participant being angry, but nonchalant and unconcerned with the event by just moving on. This can be seen in the data by how it is common to move around a club where individuals squeeze through tight place and usually people won’t take offence to it and it is normal to ignore people that are moving around, where everyone has a definition of the situation to get drunk and have a fun
