The atomic bomb, a very powerful nuclear weapon, is used for destruction, chaos, and to basically wipe out an entire area of population. America was in great favor to use these in WWI on parts of Japan, and they did. Killing over one hundred and thirty-thousand people, the atomic bomb can be used to be the most deadly thing in a war. No tank, jet or gun could kill more people than a bomb being dropped on a town of millions.

So how is it made? More than one hundred thousand scientist would take on the task of figuring that out, and it would not be easy at all. To build something like this is highly dangerous, on small error and everyone in the lab would be incinerated into bits and pieces. The biggest part of a working bomb, is to have fission, which is why the scientist used uranium-235, and plutonium-239. Both of these elements go through fission at very fast paces. Uranium is not just simply found in the world at 235, it is constructed by scientists from the most common form of 238 can taking down to 235. The reason behind this is that Uranium-238 will not create fission because the neutrons that are released to split the nucleus are captured by it and thus turn it into Uranium-239. There needs to be enough Uranium-235 in the bomb for it to work, and they need to react the right way to start of the reaction.

Most of the atomic bombs that America has made have been very difficult, spendy, and if they worked absolutely devastating. Little boy was one of the first bombs we ever made, and it was part of the Manhattan Project. Little boy needed enough uranium-235 to be shot at each other inside of the bomb to combine two masses of it and create a critical mass. This was needed so that they wouldn’t try to complete fission on their own and fail, but instead they could work
