This article covers the guidelines for homework in classrooms along with how homework can be effective and ineffective. It is apparent that homework is used in many schools and is very common. Hayse used a lot of information that supported how homework benefits students. One statement that stood out to me was when Hayse was comparing students with athletic practice. Seniors have a lot going on such as researching colleges and filling out scholarships and two hours of homework can prevent them from doing so. I understand that the standards also depend on the classes that are being taken and reading is a big focus, but no matter what classes, I feel that some of the standards can be too much for the students.
