Ensuring and encouraging schools to offer more fruits and vegetables to the students is a way of incorporating these foods into a child’s daily diet. There are a number of articles written on fast food consumption and obesity. A study performed in Michigan on fast food and obesity states , “the main reason that Michigan adults go to fast-food restaurants is that they are quick and convenient (64%). Over eating and unhealthy eating may result in obesity and other medical health problems. Fast food is high in fat content and calories and gives that temporary full feeling making it easy and convenient.
Did you know that some schools only allow their students 5-10 minutes to eat their lunch? That is basic to me. In the article Should Lunch Be Longer by Mackenzie Carro, it states that school lunches should be longer for mental and emotional reasons. A longer lunch will allow the students to more likely eat their fruits and vegetables. In the article, it states that lunch allows students to socialize with their friends that they don’t get to see often.
By serving fruits and vegetables, it helps prevent health problems and promotes healthy eating habits. “Studies show most kids have grown to like the new, healthier options” (William Rice, 1). This sentence proved that kids can like the new healthier lunches standards. That also means that it not just healthy for children, it is effective . Healthy school lunches benefit education which is a great reason to agree with healthier school lunches
Students Should Have Open Campus Lunch Periods Pinterest states, “Lunch hour is the best hour of the day.” Some students may not enjoy school lunches. Going off campus can open up more choices. Agriculture, corn growing specifically, dramatically influenced the size and sophistication of Native American civilizations in Mexico and South America. By about 1200 B.C., corn cultivation had reached the present-day American Southwest. On its journey, it powerfully molded Pueblo culture. The Pueblo peoples in the Rio Grande valley built complex irrigation systems to water their cornfields. They lived in villages made of multi-storied, terraced buildings when Spanish explorers greeted them in the sixteenth century.
One negative affect is that students may decide to not go to school as much due to the lack of appetizing lunches being served, which may lead to all sorts of negative affects. Another negative effect is test scores and grades may drop because the student is not as focused because they have not had anything to eat and are much more worried about eating than paying attention in class. The mood of the school might also be more negative. If students are happy and feel they are treated fairly they will show more school spirit and all around be a much happier learning environment.
Some kids even barely eat because the spent so much of their lunch socializing. Especially when kids have to wait in a lunch line to get their lunch, kids barely eat because the lunch line is so long. Kids need longer lunches! Short lunches caused issues because kids were not getting the right nutrition that they need daily.
Heroes can be found all around us in everyday life. A hero is defined as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Everyone knows a hero for these characteristics, but many don’t realize the hardships they were put through. Common hardships many heroes face are discrimination, living against the odds, and disabilities. An extremely common challenge faced now and in the past is discrimination.
If a school has unhealthy lunch, the kids might be happy for the time, but their life won’t be happy in the future when they grow up to be obese. All of this information proves that schools are a lot healthier now and they should keep it this way for many years to come. This healthy food also gives kids enough energy to get through the day. If they eat unhealthy lunches they won't have enough energy to make it through the day so they won't learn as much as they could if they eat healthy school lunches. In the end, schools are better off with healthy foods rather than unhealthy foods for many
If student pack their lunch and the school get the same amount of food that they got when they had unhealthy food, it will go to waste and get thrown away costing the school money. It will also affect students grades due to the lack of energy the students has from not eating at
School could get out earlier if there wasn 't an extra period saved for lunch. Schools could even get an extra period to put in the day for an extra class or just more time to add onto the classes that are already going on in school. Kids would also be healthier if they did not eat the lunch from school because you never know how much fat, grease, and unhealthy ingredients are in school lunches. Even though school lunches make a lot of students not feel good, it could be a good idea to have lunch so they get energy and are not hungry throughout the day.
