In the story The Juvie Three by Gordon Korman, Gecko and Rueben are two child criminals at which they stole a car and now is a getaway car. Gecko soon gets caught by the police and has been sent to the Jerome Atchison Juvenile Detention Center due to his crimes that his has done. Gecko’s lifestyle at the Detention Center did not last long because he has been beat by the other people there. So a man at the Detention Center gave Gecko a chance to live a normal life again. Douglas Healy, the man that helped Gecko, has started an experimental halfway to help Gecko and two new friends that Gecko will meet soon.
