Having a proper structure is essential to an organization’s success. A well-defined structure holds the organization in place and helps eradicate the chance of mishaps occurring. Although in certain organizations, the thought process is to remove someone or change someone to help an organization be successful, the structural frame believes “putting people in the right roles and relationships” is more important (Bolman & Deal, 2017, p. 48). This thought process is something the Scheduling team at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College embodies. The document the schedulers abide by is the Scheduling Agenda; this document structures how the schedulers process their work, when it is due, and who does it. Thus, my supervisor created meeting where she introduced the document to me. This document contained our central mission on the front page: to have the class schedule as accurate as possible. On the second page, it divided the work among the team members; as in, who handles one of the two divisions the Teachers College had. Then third page, which is the utmost important, listed the descriptions of the tasks and when they are due. I was assigned the tasks related to the Division II of the Teachers College. This division consisted of the graduate classes, which contains less classes and is less complex. As the new employee, the easier tasks were better suited for me.
