“Just because your pain is understandable doesn’t mean your behavior is acceptable.” One important life lesson is that people can change. You can learn this lesson by making mistakes in life, learning from other people and experiencing rough times. One way that we learn that people can change is by making mistakes. In the book Touching Spirit Bear, Cole Matthews made so many mistakes. Cole was a bully and would beat kids up and make them feel terrible. Through his mistakes he learns that what he was doing was wrong and that he needs to change his ways. He learned that his mistakes were bad and he knows that now. He is now understanding of this. Cole kept saying that he wanted to help Peter and that he wanted him to come to the island with him. He knew that he needed to help Peter get better. He got locked in a prison with his young son. He wasn’t going to stay in the prison so he said that he was going break out and fly over the lake. He taught his son to fly away but when the day came he was too focused on himself that he didn’t teach his young son how to do it.
