Many Americans argue that teens should be tried as adults for the violent crimes they commit. Teenage murder rates have been increasing over time. Yes, there are people that think these teens shouldn't be tried as adults because of how young they are. However, I disagree, these criminals that get released are mainly the juveniles who committed adult crimes. I believe that teens should be tried as adults for many reasons. It really matters on the reasons and how the teens committed these violent crimes. There have been many teens that are talked about in articles and in the news. For example, we read articles and watch videos on Jacob Ind, Torey Adamcik, and Brian Draper. These teens served time in prison for the murders they committed. Jacob Ind was 15 years old when he planned the death of his parents. Ind paid one of his classmates $2,000 to kill his parents. Both Jacob and his classmate were sentenced life in prison. Trey Adamcik and Brian Draper recored themselves planning and killing a classmate Cassie Jo Stoddart. She was stabbed 29 times by Adamcik and Draper. Both …show more content…

There are reason why they committed these crimes, Jacob Ind wanted his parent dead because of the years they abused him. Torey and Brian committed the crime because they were inspired by a movie and natural killers. They also wanted to see what it felt like to take someones life. Many would say that these teens are still kids and don’t know what they are doing. I believe that teens should know the right from wrong. They should know that murdering for any reason is wrong, there are other ways to solve things. Some people argue that teens shouldn't be sentenced to life in prison because they are still young and can mature.
