Analytical Essay: The Five Reforms Of Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar’s birth marked the beginning of a new and promising chapter in Roman history. His birth occurred on c. July 12 or 13, 100 B.C. The Roman Empire is one of the best civilizations to ever be known. It started out small, but then it gradually grew. The Roman Empire was not always an empire. It was first known as the Roman Republic, and it was the Roman general and statesman Julius Caesar that converted it into the Powerful Roman Empire. Julius Caesar would become one of the greatest leaders that was really loved by his people. Even though Julius Caesar descended from Roman Aristocrats, his family was not very rich. His father died when Julius was 16, which is why his family and him were no longer as rich as before.The Roman Empire

That happened after he made several alliances.This is when he does some major changes to Rome, which is what makes him so important to history. Julius Caesar created 5 reforms, which are the reasons why people liked him so much. His first reform involved citizenship, which was that anybody that lived in Rome, and anybody that lived in Roman-controlled territory can now be a citizen. The second reform had to do with the senate, Julius decided that more people needed to be in the Senate, therefore he expands it, but he puts his own friends and supporters in the Senate. That reform only benefits him, but the rest benefit the common people. His third reform focused on jobs. He created jobs to give employment to the people who had no jobs, and they were construction jobs. The fourth reform was about new land. Due to all of the new land, Julius Caesar creates new reforms so that more common people own land. Lastly, his fifth reform is about soldiers. He decides to make soldiers get paid more, which makes the soldiers be more loyal. He is important in history, because, even though he did have a selfish reform about the senate, the rest were beneficial to the common people, which makes him a good leader. We should learn about Julius Caesar today, because of the fact that he is such an exemplary leader, because most of the reform and changes he did were to benefit his people. Also, he plays a major part on the creation and in the history of one of the greatest civilizations, the Roman Empire. Before Julius, it was the Roman Republic, and it collapsed to become one of the greatest empires known to man. By the age of 31, Julius had already fought in several wars and he got involved in Roman politics. Without Julius Caesar, the Roman Empire would have never been what it had been capable of
