Lying with the Wolf, is a drawing made with ink and pencil on paper by Kiki Smith. This drawing is a nude female laying down on the ground hugging tightly onto a wolf. This drawing is very realistic because I can see the mood she is in by looking at the expression on her face. Not only did Smith demonstrate a relationship between a women and a wolf, but this drawing has a meaning towards it. This represents Kiki's experience throughout her entire career. Intimate Relationships with Nature This paragraph explains how most of Smith's artwork has a female and is incorporated with nature. Most of Kiki's sculptures, paintings, and drawings have a female as the protagonist because she based the idea off Sainte Genevieve, the Patron Saint of Paris. Little Red Riding Hood, as well Genevieve, is a character who is always out in the nature and surrounded by wolves, plays her same role as Kiki makes art based on her. All I saw was nude ladies in different scenes with a wolf by her side. But then, if you actually think about it, Smith is not using the wolf as a predator in any of her artworks. She is using the wolf to represent something else. In that case, I believe she's using the wolf to define the power us women. Since Kiki is making it seem like the wolf is powerless next to the women, its describing how we girls are powerful and can do
