Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaires are forced into going to Prufrock Preparatory School. They have a dreadful experience at the school and Count Olaf, a cruel and greedy man who wants to steal the children's enormous fortune, finds them. This is not a joyful nor a happy ending book but a book about the dreadful lives of the Baudelaires. I truly got into book, and I had this whole book in my head, imagining the whole story. I really enjoyed the book. The setting is the Baudelaires have arrived to Prufrock Prep. “The school was made up of several buildings, all made of smooth gray stone, and the buildings were grouped together in a sort of sloppy line.” (page 10) The school’s motto is “Memento Mori”, which means “Remember you will die.”. To my assumption, I think she can quickly think on her feet. For example, on page 6, it says that Violet “likes to invent things, and one could often find her thinking hard about her latest invention, with her hair tied up in a ribbon to keep it out of her eyes.” Another example is on page 49-50, Violet thought of noisy shoes to make the crabs stop bothering them by making a lot of noise. “‘How about noisy shoes?’ Violet said suddenly. ‘If we took small pieces of metal and glue them to our shoes?’” It shows the reader that she is a genius and she is an inventor. Without her inventions, they wouldn’t get out of horrible situations. The personality trait for Klaus is that he is a bookworm. He reads a majority of books on all sort of topics. On page 6, it says “Most of the time, Klaus could be found doing what he liked to do best, which was reading.” Klaus knowledge on mostly everything helps them figure out solutions way …show more content…
It represents the evil in the antagonist, which is Count Olaf. It’s a way for the children show grown ups that Coach Genghis is actually Count Olaf. On pages 211-213, it’s them, while running after Count Olaf, showing the grown ups that he is actually Count Olaf by showing his one eyebrow and his eye tattoo on his left ankle. There were some parts that were disturbing, for example, the description of the Orphan Shack is just disturbing and gross. “Some sort of fungus was growing on the ceiling, a fungus that was light tan and quite damp.” (page 34) Besides that, the book was beautiful and it was a great book. The author was the narrator of the book. He used action verbs like plop! I enjoyed his style of writing. I liked that the author, Lemony Snicket, was the narrator and he paused at moments to tell us a warning, for example, on page 210, the narrator paused the story by giving us a warning that things aren’t going to get any better and we could imagine a happy ending for ourselves. I would love to know more about Carmelita Spats and why was she so nasty to the Baudelaires and so rude. They weren’t any confusing parts in this book. This book flowed very
