This speech, Will Smith had given on January 31st, 2018. It’s the beginning of the year so this speech was given at the right time because people are trying new things and changing their daily habits, by making a new year’s resolution. Yes, sometimes people don’t follow through with it, but others might. This speech hopefully gives others a boost of confidence to try harder and be better. Will Smith’s powerful work ethic and strong understanding of how the world works has inspired millions through his motivational speeches, quotes and beliefs that you can attract anything you want in life, if you are willing to ask for it and work for it. The weaknesses of the speech were that it’s hard to follow. It bounces around a lot of different points, but they all relate to each other in some way or another. The strengths the speech had was that it was powerful and interesting. There were a few words that caught my attention and somehow dragged me back in. As this speech kept pulling my attention back in, I noticed that I was hard to stay on the same page. It all made sense to me and I knew where he was going with this, but the speech isn’t all about one thing. Its about how people should take risks in life and how failing is a good thing because all you must learn from that failed task is to just feel better. This speech also mentions about “Where are you and where do you really want to go? What’s going to create this extraordinary life? What is it that’s going to truly fulfill you?” And the answer to all of that is that “you’re either building or you’re decaying, or either gaining ground or you are losing ground.” It all depends on you. I believe this speech did grab the audience attention and interest and that they also understood the meaning of the
