Introduction The presentation was conducted by president Barak Obama while he was still a Senator in 2004. It was his keynote speech to persuade the audience to vote for John Kerry as President. Invention Obama was able to identify what arguments people wanted to hear at the convention he focused on the unaffordable education system and poor healthcare available to all citizens. He made himself seem like any other citizen with the same the hardships. His story was used as a form of inspiration to inspire the citizens pride and emotion for their country by using terms like “magical land” and “beacon of hope”. When it came to ethos Obama was very confident with the topics he was speaking of. He also shared his knowledge and seemed to have done his research on the topic. Lastly his passion, for creating a better society was passed on the public so seamlessly. Pathos was a proof that was apparent throughout and he truly connected with the audience. It was as though he was reading their mind and they wanted to hear more. He also adapted very well and spoke about what the audience wanted to hear and they connected with him. His attention getter was not so capturing. However, once he started to speak about his background and told his story he has captured the audience and they wanted to hear more. In many of his speeches he starts out with some background and transitions very well into the basis of his speech. Using his background to state what America is for him he then transitioned with “more to do”, this was effortlessly done. He did not state what his main topics were going to be about but he spoke of them well. Again, with what seemed as though without any effort he transitioned into the ideas on how those issues can be solved. His conclusion accentuated on the way everyone can change the country together.
