Andrew Carnegie is a captain of industry. Bill Gates is also a captain of industry because they both donated to charity, both wanted people to help themselves , and they command great power within their respective times. Andrew Carnegie by the late 1800’s was one of the so called american titans, these were men who wielded tremendous power. The power these titans wielded was to the extent of forcible electing a president to protect their common interests. This allowed him to later donate more than 300 billion in today's money that was used on teachers and research. He made his fortune in the steel industry making many contracts to build railroads. Bill Gates made his fortune buy selling ibm ms.dos and operating system for their 16 bit computers.
