In the novel Animal Farm, the characteristics as they pertain to life, war, and of course Animal Farm can be compared to the propaganda techniques of the Russian Revolution. The techniques which were used was dictatorship, euphemism and scapegoat propaganda. Dictatorship is when one ruler has all the power. Euphemism is words that are used to soften the true meaning. Scapegoat is when someone is put to blame for the actions of another person.
The fictional book Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is about Mr. Jones’ farm of animals who rebel against him and make their own society. Although equal at first, the pigs slowly create a peerless government due to the malleable minds of the rest of the animals. I the end, the pigs have broken all of their originally set commandments and begin to act as humans at the dismay of all of the other previously equal animals. Three topics addressed in this amazing book are anthropomorphism, foreshadowing, and motif. To start, the first topic, anthropomorphism, is used the entire book, as the animals are the main characters.

Another theme in this story is “People deserve to have their own thoughts and ideas.
By focusing on the country and city setting in Animal Farm and The Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, it is fair to say that the environment dictates the behavior of its inhabitants. The place of a story determines what will possibly happen,
One dominant theme in animal farm is totalitarianism and abuse of power. Totalitarianism is defined as a political system in which the state possesses complete authority over the society and controls all aspects of public and private life whenever necessary. The author criticized totalitarianism and believed that it was inevitable in a communist system, as those put in charge will result in the abuse of their power. The theme Orwell intended to get across was that all totalitarian regimes are the same and those who hold power will do anything to maintain it. The pigs, who were the leaders, frequently displayed this throughout the novel.
