Lord of The Flies and Animal Farm, both considered the greatest stories of all time. Both have won a multitude of awards, from a Nobel Prize in Literature, to a Prometheus Hall of Fame Award. Both stories are constantly considered two of the greatest books of all time. I will be comparing and contrast the two in many different aspects, from plot, settings and characters.
The differences in setting: First of all, the first thing you’ll know about these two are there settings. Of course, Animal Farm’s setting is in the title itself! Lord of the Flies starts off in an island. However, the location is also different. While it is unknown in Lord of The Flies, we can confirm that Animal Farm is started off in England. Lord of the Flies is most likely in an island near the Pacific Ocean (however this is just a theory). Lord of the Flies had a much bigger environment than Animal Farm which would have affected the events at the end of the story if Lord of the Flies had a small environment. Such as the characters being easier to kill. Now of course with differences there are similarities. The similarities in setting: Both settings are almost considered obstacles at the beginning of each stories but the characters get used to it later in each story.
