Chapter 1: Ralph-has leadership and is smart, since he came up with blowing the conch when there is a meeting and went exploring on the island. In the future I think Ralph will continue to show his intelligence and be a great leader. Piggy-Piggy seems very nice and is eager to become friends with Ralph and is very trusting. I think Piggy will be made fun of since they found out from Ralph that his name is Piggy. Piggy seems to be an outsider since he wears glasses, has asthma, and is overweight.
Everyone fears something and especially not knowing what's in the shadows. All humans have a fear its natural there's no need to be ashamed of it, for example, if a child is in a very dark room with no source of light, she/he will start thinking what's in the dark maybe a monster? Or a murder waiting to kill them? The choices are endless, but why do we fear the unknown? Its because all humans want to know everything if it's going to kill them or hurt them.
Title The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, is an allegorical novel that is based on something that had happened during the time of the Cold War. An allegory is a literature piece that can be analyzed and interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning in it, usually by using symbols to create some type of moral. The dystopian novel is about a big group of boys and they had just crash landed on a deserted island and have to learn how to survive on their own. Although in the end the boys survived, it proved to be very difficult at times from fighting over power to be frightened and confused because they do not have a real leader that knows what they are doing.

The classic novel “Lord of the Flies” written by William Golding tells a story of a group of boys stuck on an island. I selected this novel because James Dashner, author of the Maze Runner series, said that his book was slightly inspired by LOTF. Personally I thought this book was enjoyable. It had lots of excitement, foreshadowing, and plot twists which I liked. The struggle to survive and get rescued was very stimulating.

The novel focuses in on the ideas of innocence, fear, power and primitivity. Irony in the novel shows the reader that one’s primal nature and inner evil can affect society on a large scale. Goldings use of symbolism in relation to themes in the novel shows how people can have rules in civilization but the people rule civilization.
