Recently, based on a tradition-historical criticism, scholars debated to disclose the origin of Gen 14:18-20. Although this approach is valuable, I would like to focus on how these verses were interpreted by our predecessors (or ancestors), who had a faithfulness and devotion to God’s word. In this regard, I will compare 11QMelch of Dead Sea scroll, which is originated in the late second or early first century B.C.E. and Hebrews 7 in the New Testament. Based on literary critical

However, for many farmers, problems can occur after the ewe gives birth to lambs. Unfortunately, between 15 to 20 percent of lambs die, because of the farmer’s lack of preparation and planning (S.J. Ward et al. pg87).
Covenants are where God obligates himself to the human race by making promises to his people and, usually, requiring certain conduct from them. The Bible is a beautiful interpretation of the human experience, given from a divine perspective (Unknown, n.d.). There are a number of literary styles and forms found in the text of the New Testament. We must look at these styles and appreciate them for what they are, and take that into account, as we read and attempt to understand the text itself. The New Testament was laid out in a way that goes against the normal thought process of a time line (Harris, 2014). The New Testament is laid out as it groups the literary styles together.
The first five books of at the Bible are known at the Pentateuch. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy each have their own distinct way of telling stories that occurred in the Old Testament. “The composition of the entire Pentateuch is its final form continues to be s subject of debate among biblical scholars” (Varughese, A., 2003, p.62). The origination of these five books has been questioned and scholars have researched the sources of these findings of the Old Testaments. Each book serves a purpose and tells a story of how God operated during that time.
