The Holocaust: The story of Anne Frank
“ I can shake off everything if I write; my sorrows disappear. My courage is reborn.” A quote taken from Anne Frank’s diary, a book that has changed the lives of millions worldwide. Anne Frank, the author, was a young victim of the Holocaust. What sets Anne apart from the 5-6 million other innocent jews who were murdered in this time of sorrow is the level of courage, bravery, and love that is shown through her gift of writing. Anne Frank has changed the lives of this generation, and I believe that she will continue to change the lives of generations to come. “I can remember that as early as 1932 groups of storm troopers marching by while singing ‘While Jewish blood splatters from the knife’ Otto Frank latter recalled” (Bio). Otto did everything in his power to keep his family safe. Sadly, this was not enough. “”On August 4, 1944, after 25 months of hiding, Anne Frank and the seven others in the Secret Annex were discovered.”(History). They were sent to Westbrook, a holding camp near the Neverlands. All eight people were taken to Westingbrook, a holding camp near the neverlands. From there, Anne and Margot were taken to the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau, a holding and extermination camp. Anne and Margot were both spared the gas chambers, and were then sent to Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp back in Northern Germany. Anne and Margot Frank both died in March, 1945, from typhus.
