Anne Frank was an upstander in history because of her bravery during The Holocaust and because of her secret diary that explained to the world how it was for the Jews when the holocaust had took place in the time of March 20,1933 when Adolf Hitler took lead. Because of Anne Frank’s secret book people now know how difficult and hard it was when they had to be separated and sent to concentration camps. The reason why she is brave for writing this orange-grey checked book about how she felt and about her disagreeing with Hitler is because anybody who talked bad about Hitler was executed. The Frank family went into hiding in 1942, they hid in a secret apartment behind Anneś fatherś business in Germany-occupied Amsterdam. The Frank family was found and sent to concentration camps in 1944 where only Anneś father Otto Frank had survived. The concentration camp that Anne and her sister Margot Frank were sent to was called Bergen Belsen. Her father Otto Frank was sent to Westerbork and then he was sent to a different camp called Auschwitz.
The mother Edith Frank was sent to Auschwitz as well, the camp Auschwitz was liberated in 1945. Where Otto frank had discovered that he was the only one in his family that had survived the concentration camps. Anne Frank died from Typhus fever ( March.12,1945 ), her sister Margot died from Epidemic typhus ( 1943 ). The mother died from starvation (January.6,1945 ) and the father had died from lung cancer (August.19,1980 ).
