Happiness can shed light in the darkest of times. Anne Frank’s diary not only shed light on the horrific life of the Jews during World War II, but also emphasized the hope they had to stay alive. Although the Franks and those living with them were frightened, Anne was a spark of hope and happiness throughout the secret annex. Even though her life was short, she made an impact on the world around her. Anneyttr4ggggg, although in a terrible time for the Jews, wrote one of the most memorable diaries of all time. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929. Anne lived a simple young childhood. She participated in all Jewish activities her family would participate in. Anne lived most of her life in Amsterdam. While she was a young child, her family had freedom. As she grew older, the Germans started to take over and force the Jews into hiding. While in hiding, Anne received a diary for her birthday to write in. As Anne grew up, so did her writing. Anne’s writing improved over time as she started to explain more in depth what was happening to the Jewish family that was in hiding. “Anne died of typhus in the Bergen- Belsen concentration camp” (“Anne Frank”). Although there is no specified date, the common consensus is that she died near the middle of March in 1945. After the war ended, Otto Frank went back to the secret annex, the place the Frank’s went into hiding. He found the diary and decided to get it published. The diary showed the type of hope that Anne showed throughout the war. “In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart” (Berenbaum).
