The Progression of a Little Girl into a Young Adult in The Diary of a Young Girl By Anne Frank Anne Frank was typical teenage girl, she hung out with friends, also liked a boy and got good grades at school. But then she got a diary for her 13th birthday, she treated it like a friend, always writing in it. But when world war two started, Anne started writing her experiences as she and her jewish family hid from the Nazis. Although she was only 13 when WW2 started and only lived up to be 15, she showed more courage and strength than most children and some adults show today. She had to adapt to different environments and to act more mature than her age. She had transition from a young girl to a young adult throughout the book. Her family started acting more cautious whenever the Nazi were harassing the jewish communities. They started packing because of the Nazi oppression. Anne was confused by all of the sudden moves, she was told stay quiet and not to get in trouble. For a 13 year old girl that can be very tough to stay quiet without knowing why. But she did anyways and adapted before the Nazis came to their door. When she went into hiding she only had her family and the other people that were hiding with them. She stayed strong for months and even years, all she want was things to go back to normal. "I could go on for hours about all the suffering the war has brought, but then I would only make myself more dejected. There is nothing we can do but wait as calmly as we can till the misery comes to an end. Jews and Christians wait, the whole earth waits; and there are many who wait for death." (Wednesday, 13 January, 1943, pg 83). This quote clearly
