Public and expert opinion on how to combat climate change exasperated natural disasters differs among specific regions. After studying public opinion, and interviewing experts on both climate change and the Caribbean, we have reached the conclusion that there is a large difference of opinions regarding climate change between the regions. Those from the United States, in both public opinion and from experts, were less likely to be wary of climate change and natural disasters resulting from it. In contrast, the public and experts from the Caribbean are more vocal in their beliefs of to climate change and the natural disasters it creates. For example, according to data from a poll conducted by Vanderbilt University, up to 79% of respondents from Caribbean countries believed that climate change is a very serious problem. It can be concluded from this data, that when combined with the recent hurricane season that has devastated the region, that those from Caribbean countries likely to accept the proposals within this paper.
