Legendary American photographer, Ansel Adams said, "photography, [is] a powerful medium of expression and communications, [it] offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution." Ansel Adams' point is that one image taken in a fraction of a second has the power to affect the viewer emotionally. From this, one image can communicate, tell a story, or connect people. These connections, generated through only images aid in proving why exactly this craft is so important. In other words, being a photographer is a unique career, due to the evolution of the camera, and its ability to record or view the world around society.

Today, Digital Cameras have nearly replaced the use of film. As the Complete Digital Photo Manual stated, over many centuries cameras are evolving to become smaller and lighter. For instance, a digital camera has an lcd screen where one can take pictures easily and view it afterwards with a quality result. There are many types of cameras to choose from, also, they are easy to store and be carried around. Besides that, cameras are used in different types of photography and available at many price points. In addition, being a photographer for a living or hobby, comes with many tools one could use to make their photos look more aesthetically pleasing. For example, with the innovation of computers a software called photoshop was established. Today, photoshop is the main tool to use in photography. As The Complete Digital Photo Manual states, the meaning of photoshop software is to help people in manipulating an image to their photographic creativity (82). In the same way, "to alter (a digital image)... especially in a way that distorts reality (as for deliberately deceptive purposes)" (Photoshop). Surely, photoshop provides powerful tools to enhance photos. A few examples of these tools are cropping, adjusting, color correcting, toning, cloning and many more. As Lerner, Lee, and Wilmoth wrote, photographers concentrate on choosing details that evoke situations and people. From this, every photographer with a camera make two distinctive types of photography those of scenes and events along with whatever the individual have a mindful connection of (Rutherford). A famous photographer Galen Rowell himself writes, "the camera sees the world differently than the human eye and that sometimes those differences can make a photograph more powerful than what you actually observed." Essentially Rowell is saying, the result of capturing a picture is more dominant than just seeing the event that is happening in that moment. Rowell is correct because pictures can show true depth of meaning and evidence of the situation.
