The USA Patriot Act, also known as "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism" was a rushed act passed 45 days after the devastating terrorist attack on the twin towers September 11th, 2001. It was composed with the intention of finding and prosecuting international terrorists on American soil, but consequently violated the constitution. In addition, the Patriot act allows surveillance on all emails, internet, and cell phones to try and catch terrorists. The Unites States is by far in a better position since the passage of the Homeland Security Bill of 2003. This bill has strengthened and fortified our borders to ensure we are never attacked again like were on September 11, 2001. “There have been a number of planned attacks that have been prevented on U.S. soil and abroad within the past several years” because of the Homeland Security Bill that was put into place (Keefer, 2017). This act vetted a lot of agencies and brought them together in order to make our country much safer than it ever has been. On July 9, 1868, the Fourteenth amendment was formally introduced to the Constitution and granted citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States.” These words have as an ideal purpose that all levels of the federal government must operate within the law and provide fair conditions for all people. As a result, the states had a obligation to the public. Through the Fourteenth amendment, states were forbidden from denying any person “life, liberty, or property, without due process of law” or to “deny any person within jurisdiction the equal protection of laws.” By directly mentioning the role of the states, the Fourteenth amendment also expanded civil rights to African American slaves who had been emancipated after the American Civil War.
Did you know theres so many violent cases where Border Patrol agents or BPA for short, don't even get charged for the awful things they do to migrants. The problem that we need to fix is how Border Patrol agents treat migrants or deal with them. We need to stop Border Patrol brutality because out there are being beat or ending up with injuries because of these abusive agents. First and for most, there are too many cases of migrants being beat by Border Patrol officers without getting any consequences. There was a case where a mans face was stepped on and kneed in the ribs after being handcuffed, the man reported it and the case was looked into but nothing was done.

The Arizona SB 1070 arguably may be one of the most controversial state immigration laws passed in Arizona. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Republican Party, signed the bill into a law on April 23, 2010. The bill implemented three key provisions: it permits people to sue their local government, agencies, cities, and counties if they believe that the immigration law is not actively being enforced. Second, it requires that police officers, when practicable, check the immigration status and detain those they deem suspicious as residing illegally in the United States. The final provision require an individual to possess their immigration documentation at all time.

The term "alien" has taken on a negative connotation over the last few years. With the issue of immigration reform so prevalent in the U.S., immigration-reform advocates are fighting to remove the term from federal documents so as not to offend immigrants. Castro leads the way Rep. Joaquín Castro, D-Texas, introduced a bill that would effectively remove the term "alien" in any and all federal documents and replace it with the more politically correct term "foreign national. " The name of the bill is the Correcting Hurtful and Alienating Names in Government Expression Act, also known as the CHANGE act.
Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act allows U.S. intelligence agencies to acquire foreign intelligence information by monitoring foreign persons in the USA and abroad. This act ensures that intelligence agencies can respond in time to terminate a security threat. The most important part of this act, the Section 702 forbids deliberate monitoring of US citizens and their communication. Technically NSA has been violating this act ever since it has been enacted in 2008 because, as we know, they have been monitoring all US citizenry.
The 14th Amendment was a milestone in the United States history. It is the sole amendment that keeps our people and their rights together. The rights of the people are a major aspect to keeping the American society going in a positive direction. With no rights, the government of the United States would be purely communism with one leader giving all of the orders. In most cases, history has proven that way of running your society is not the most successful way of doing things.

And that it wasn’t even in your control to come here. Well that’s what the children of DACA have to deal with when they start getting older and have to live for themselves; they have to find ways that Americans don’t to be able to get a job or go to college.
Immigration reform has been a big issue for our country in recent years. Many U.S. citizens claim that immigration is harmful to the US economy. In just 20 years, we have seen the average number of immigrants per year jump a staggering 20%. This has lead to the biased opinions we see towards immigration today. Currently, our country is not receiving any benefit from immigration.
The Second Amendment had made a big impact in the U.S. The Second Amendment stated “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the to security of a free state , the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Many citizens do not support the second amendment or as known as Anti-Federalists. Anti-Federalists is anyone who doesn’t support anything in the constitution. But it needs to be supported by the citizens to keep yourself safe.
One of the biggest issues our society faces today is paying for college. College tuition alone is expensive, but then they want you to pay for books, room and board, and basically to give up your first born child to go to school there. It is a hassle in itself to meet the certain criteria that colleges ask for. If you can get a full ride somewhere, you have to be Albert Einstein. It is all such an intimidating process once you get there, I’m sure.
