During the early 1900’s the world was drowning in problems stemming from the Great War which led a global depression leaving every country to fend for themselves. With the sudden collapse of the U.S stock market, Germany suffered severely due to the fact that they were no longer able to pay reparations for the damages of World War I since they were loaning money from the U.S. leading to Adolf Hitler rising to power changing Germany and causing World War II. Unlike WWI WWII wasn’t something to glorify. “World War II was even more of a total war than World War I. Only a year after coming into the power President Paul von Hindendburg passed away leaving Hitler's Nazi party solely in power allowing them to spread their views throughout Germany. to incorporate his views of anti semitism over Germany they used Jews as a scapegoat blaming them for causing WWI and the depression “Germany’s economic difficulties were a crucial factor in the Nazis’ rise to power, which is why Adolf ideals were supported by an entire country” (Duiker and Spielvogel, World History) which led to government persecution on Jewish people. “Hitler’s goal was the development of an “Aryan” racial state that would dominate Europe and possibly the world for generations to come” (Duiker and Spielvogel, World History, 728). By trying to accomplish this Hitler resorted to what he called The Final Solution, sending Jews along with other “racially unfit” people to death camps in order to create his idea of a perfect race. This was a time where everyone wanted to better themselves and avoid fighting at all costs even if they were seeing imperialism in the face they blinked. WWII was a different ball game than the previous war the battlefield spread from the soldiers to cities causing civilians to be caught in the crossfire intentionally causing massive amount of casualties surpassing those lost in WWI. The world also experienced one of the most heinous war crime ever committed, the Holocaust, which was the most massive extinction of a race in history with the death of 5 million Jews and millions of other minorities. Along with the depression Governments were up to their necks in funding again resorting to mobilization countries were able to think of more efficient ways to grow their economy to support the war while also clawing their way out of the depression women continued to break down the barriers and countries were using foreigners and POWs as their labor force due to labor
