Again, this made me nearly drop those classes. Again, some of the other class which were not science were hard for me to cope with from the beginning of the semester till the end of the semester. One of it was English 12 and History 20. I had to go to the writing center about three times on every assignment that I do. Spending of my time on those subject discipline that the other which affected me on of
My greatest academic strengths include critical thinking, critical reading, creativity, listening skills, and perseverance. I’ve gained these strengths by challenging myself academically. My greatest academic weaknesses include a short attention span, cramming, and not being a good test
For example, this semester I am taking Honors World History, Chorus 2, and AP Chemistry. Though I struggle in some of these courses, I spend countless nights studying to maintain a 4.1 G.P.A. Science is a very prestigious passion of mine, and I hope to strive in such research. I participate in the Youth Achievers Committee Science Fair every year, and
I have become more determined which is one of my strengths. What I have done to stay more focused is make a list of my priorities that I need to stay on task with. It makes me feel better about myself when I check things off my list. I have been also persistent which is another strength that will help me succeed and will help me become a better
I will use the strengths to my advantage for the rest of my high school experience. Some of these includes my ability to edit videos and come up with BRILLIANT IDEAS to make them entertaining to the audience, and my little, to no, grammatical errors in my essay. Everybody has a weakness, and mine, throughout my projects, I struggled, greatly, with citations. This is my first year using the APA format, and I have gotten TOO MUCH practice throughout this class with it. I have definitely improved on them since the About West project; however, I am not the master at doing them yet.
This was the second time I had taken the strengths finder assessment and like my previous results I receive competition as my top strength. I have always been an extremely competitive person, whether it be sports, school, or employment. I have always strived to be the best and dislike losing. According to the results a person who is competitive measure their progress based on the performance of others. I extremely relate to this since I feel satisfied when I outperform other coworkers, peers, or friends.
Thanks to the knowledge I have gained from the education system so far, I know how to successfully count to 100, sing my ABCs, and write a 10-page paper about Odysseus from the Odyssey. However, during this new chapter in my life, I’ve learned how to do laundry, order take-out, and write a 5-page page paper about weather phenomena while cramming for a chemistry final all in the same night. This semester and for the rest of my college career, I want to learn more subjects that challenge me such as matrix algebra and Micrometeorology. Challenges are what make us stronger. Its where we learn our strengths and weaknesses.
Some may take the easy way out, but others challenge themselves and take on what the world throws at them. Even though they may not achieve the results they would like, they keep pushing themselves and don’t give up. Not everything in life comes easily, so some sacrifices have to be made for the long run. Of course there will be those whose only goal is to just pass, nothing less, nothing more, but there will also be those who go above and beyond. We, as AP students, know that for a successful career, college is the first step and colleges look for students who challenge themselves in a tough course rather than getting a 100 in a regular course.
I consider Math and Science to my academic strengths. I scored 78 percent better than my peers in the PSAT math portion. St. John’s University granted me an award for the Women of Science in regards to Biology. This gave me great satisfaction because Biology was an academic subject that I loved dearly so much I now take AP Biology. It allowed me to grow and recognize that I might want to pursue something science related in
My work ethic and study habits are strong. Quizlet, flashcards, and notes are all study tools I use. I have been on Honor Roll for each year at Jack Jouett Middle School and get all A 's. When confused about a concept, I always ask for help early so I understand it before the unit becomes further difficult. Math and science are interesting and bring challenges.
psychology would be my most challenging. All though it my favorite subject it’s not an easy class. I have a really hard time with the terms used in psychology. I got a D on my first text which was very depressing, but now I know what to expect and I now know what kind of notes I should be taking.
My junior year I took on the challenge by taking Language and Composition then also taking United States History. That gave me the confidence to double my load with adding on 2 more AP classes to my schedule which is a challenge but I think there’s much worse than four AP classes. As you go you learn that if you set your mind on doing a certain thing anything is possible to overcome.
As a college freshmen, there is no doubt that I still have a long ways to go in order to achieve my academic goals. And through this journey, I know that I will encounter highs and lows just as I experienced in the past, most notability in high school. I keenly remember instances around this time where I doubted my abilities when subjects like math was proving to be difficult, even when I was trying to put in effort to stay on track. I was struggling in math because I did not try to identify my weaknesses, and never tried to come up with solutions to fix my problems. Rather, I chose to give up on math and settle with a grade barely passing.
After knowing what my weaknesses are, I usually try to solve them and improve my skills. For example, I’m not a highly flexible and positive person, so I seek out to individuals who are flexible and positive in their lives and ask for their advice. Another strength that I have is that I usually have a positive outlook of my improvement, because I have seen examples of those who overcome their hardships and become successful in life, so I believe that if I try hard enough, I will be able to overcome my weaknesses. I’m also confident with my listening skills and my ability to focus on others and make them feel heard. I like to start on works and projects early so that if anything comes up, I will still have time to handle it.
and I managed to pass the class with a B. My weakness this year was probably not having enough sleep. I get cranky when I don’t get enough sleep, and I realized I can’t focus when I’m in class. My strength this year was probably becoming more organized and setting a specific schedule for myself everyday. Since I have to work, I need to make specific time for my homework. I also need to have specific time to shower and get ready for school in the morning.
