Since ArmaLite's debut in 1954, there have been many changes and many new firearms created for its customers, whether commercial or military. With some bumps in the road, they became known for their very popular AR rifles. ArmaLite began as a Division of Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corporation, but then became ArmaLite Inc., then a division of Elisco Tool, and finally it became its own corporation. Each of the stages of the company made strides with firearms in its own way.

My personal experience being multilingual is that i am able to freely express myself in words or phrases that come natural to me. Being able to speak Vietnamese, English, and French with ease while using some commonly known phrases from the Japanese language. Martin Espada and Richard Rodriguez, two authors that speak Spanish and English have different standpoints on the subject of bilingualism. In Martin Espada’s essay “The New Bathroom Policy at English High School” explains the need to maintain cultural identity through bilingualism, while in Richard Rodriguez’s exert “Hunger of Memory” depicts the necessity of becoming bilingual to be able to function well in society. “The New Bathroom Policy at English High School” by Martin Espada explores
The debate between supporters of Pro-Bilingual Education and Pro-English Education is a battle that will stand the test of time. In recent years, it has become a politicized dispute and is no longer just a language issue. It has become an issue of culture. English will continue to be the dominant language of the United States, but the population of LEP students will continue to grow.
The parent’s perspective towards bilingual education was like the student’s opinions because both individuals felt immersion classrooms benefit the students and the parents. The father of Jason was proud his son was the first in his family to read, write, and speak in English. Jason’s father knew his son would have many career opportunities by learning English at school. Learning the English academic language was not the only proud language Jason’s father encouraged for Jason to learn but also the Spanish language as well. Jason’s father only speaks Spanish so if his son was to lose his home language, a language barrier would form between father and son.
Module Response 5: Bilingual Education Programs & Teaching Bilingually 1 Based on your new, or perhaps revised, understanding of bilingual education programs and the rationale for teaching English learners in the U.S. bilingually, and maybe even based on your own experiences teaching in the schools, what do you believe is the best way to teach English learners a) the English language, b) academic language and content, c) critical thinking skills, d) skills that would prepare them for post-secondary education, e) experiences that would help them to lead productive lives in our global society? The Texas Education Agency (TEA) defines English Language Learner (ELL) as a “Student of limited English proficiency” means a student whose primary language
While we generally think of cooking to be a skill rather than an art, Babette proves that it is indeed an art and should not be discredited. An art is simply an expression of creativity, generally in a physical form. Babette certainly shows a great level of creative expression, creating a meal which, though foreign to the community, changes their perspective and allows for the reinstatement of spirit within their party. When Babette first comes to Berlevaag she cooks without excess, her food is “as plain as possible” (pg 7) and we are unable to see the artistry she is capable. It is only once Babette spends all of her winnings in the lottery on a glorious feast, however, that we finally are able to understand how talented and passionate she

Moses Maximov Jorge Villalobos English 100 September 22, 2014 Bilingual Education Draft 1 Bilingual education is a term that describes the different kind of educational programs such as English as a Second Language. Bilingual education methods involve teaching students school subjects in their native tongue, while they are being taught English. The main purpose is to keep the children from falling behind in other subjects while they are learning English. This program is provided to teach English as a second language until the students are ready to be in all English class setting. There is an ongoing debate where people are in favor of bilingual education, and against it; however, I believe that bilingual education should not be implemented in K-12 because and it is too costly for United States government to maintain this program, and it may create a slow learning
While common core can be argued that it creates higher standard of education, removing it would be a fine by many teachers in Florida. Removing common core would take less stress off of the educators and in-turn students alike. Common core does not even accuraltely judge a child's knowledge effictively. It is for these reasons that if Common core is removed, that it would benefit the educational system. Common core adds stress to teachers.
This is because culture has been seen as a great factor that influences the learning of students while still in schools. As an educator I will be able to understand that the students under my care come from different backgrounds and their learning preferences might differ. This will be important as I will be able to figure out programs that would fit to the requirements of these students coming from backgrounds that are diverse. This will enable me to provide an environment that is caring and make their accommodation comfortable therefore promoting their learning. However, despite this hostility the issue of bilingual education has proved to be effective to the students who use English as their second
Bilingualism in Schools Sophia Y Learning a second language can greatly improve people's lives; it helps them and their countries in a very large number of ways. Multilingual people are far more successful in life because the knowledge of a second language opens up a great deal more opportunities (Fotheringham, 2018). Bilingualism is scientifically proven to improve cognitive performance (Brockless, 2017). It can also positively impact how empathetic a person is (Ruiz, 2017). In addition, having more bilinguals can improve the economy (Wagers, 2018).
Introduction Bilingual education is an academic approach followed by some instructors, which is using the native language for new English learners for instructions. Within the international context, bilingual education has become a necessity due to the high number of immigration, colonialism and the great number of local languages (Yushau, B. & Bokhari, M.A, 2005). This approach in instruction has reflected back positively or negatively in many dimensions such as social, psychological, and pedagogical. However, bilingual education instruction is an effective way of teaching English as a second language, in case of well implementation it can be seen as an educational advantage. This literature covers a wide variety of opinions that revolves around a topic that researchers find it controversial, this review will highlight the major question and findings which emerge in order throughout the literature.
However, “the clear conclusion emerging from data sets is that even in two California districts that are considered some of the most successful in teaching English to LEP students, oral proficiency takes 3 to 5 years to develop, and academic English proficiency can take 4 to 7 years. The data from the two school districts in Canada offer corroboration” (Hahta, Butler, Witt. 2000, p. 2) There is a common fallacy that bilingual education or bilingualism will have adverse effects on the learning of the majority language. Cummins (n.d.) states “A finding common to all forms of bilingual education is that spending instructional time through two languages entails no long-term adverse effects on students’ academic development in the majority language. This pattern emerges among both majority and minority language students, across widely varying sociolinguistic and sociopolitical contexts, and in programs with very different organizational structures”
Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve been made fun of, or heard someone else being made fun of? I am sure the answer to that question is yes. Or maybe, you’ve insulted someone else without realizing the true meaning behind it? Ultimately, this is because language is more powerful than we think. Words and language can be used as weapons, and it may be hard for people to understand that certain words can be thought of as insulting to someone else but may not seem that way towards you.
