Even through middle and high school, I consistently found biology to be nothing but fascinating. With time, I realized that our planet is under high pressure from humanity’s footprint. Species are facing extinction at unprecedented speeds, the sea level is rising, and resources are becoming contaminated. Because the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is taking steps to further our understanding of the natural world, I became inspired to involve myself. My love of ecology and evolutionary biology impact my own daily life, the livelihood of others and by joining the like-minded individuals at CU Boulder, I know the pressure the planet faces can be relieved. …show more content…
As I increase my understanding of the natural world, I become increasingly able to answer questions I have regarding my day-to-day activities. I know how to grow my house plants efficiently, how to bake delicious loaves of bread, and how to keep myself at my healthiest.
