The Socio-behaviorist theory (behaviorism) Socio-behaviorists often study how children 's experiences model their behaviors (Nolan & Raban, 2015). Behaviorism believes that what matters is not the development itself, but the external factors that shape children 's behaviors (Nolan & Raban, 2015). This theory demonstrates that teachers and mentors dominate and instruct child-related activities, and they decide what children should learn and how to learn (Nolan & Raban, 2015). Reinforcement, which is an essential factor that helps children to learn particular behaviors, generally refers to rewards and punishments (Nolan & Raban, 2015). Children are more likely to repeat actions that result in receiving praise; in contrast, they may ignore or abandon behaviors that make them get punishment.
Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to persuade a parent whose child has received a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder to provide their child with critical early life intervention therapy as well as educate the parent on ABA therapy in addition to touching on a handful of other possible therapies. In this paper I will look at the behaviorists Pavlov and Skinner, and explore their theories in behaviorism and conditioning. I will discuss the contrasting theories of classical and operant conditioning, their similarities and differences in principals. In looking at these two strategies I have attempted to apply these historical concepts or theories to the current educational setting specifically to the severely autistic preschool population. Behavioristic Perspective: An approach to the study of psychology that focuses on the role of learning and important of environmental influences in explaining behavior. Behavior therapy would be a helpful experience for Jodie. It would give her a better understanding of more adaptive ways to overcome her psychological problems. Jodie's past is obviously affecting her in a negative way and has resulted to drinking to ease the pain. When Jodie is given alternate solutions to her life problems, that is not drinking, her life will hopefully start to improve.
There are many different perspectives of psychology. Among them I would agree with behavioral perspective if I were to become a psychologist.
