Behavioristic Perspective: An approach to the study of psychology that focuses on the role of learning and important of environmental influences in explaining behavior.

Behavior therapy would be a helpful experience for Jodie. It would give her a better understanding of more adaptive ways to overcome her psychological problems. Jodie's past is obviously affecting her in a negative way and has resulted to drinking to ease the pain. When Jodie is given alternate solutions to her life problems, that is not drinking, her life will hopefully start to improve.

Cognitive Perspective: An approach to the study of psychology that focuses on the process by which we acquire knowledge.

At this time, Jodie is obviously not very socially active. She thinks it is pointless to make friends because it always fails. Her low social activity may be a leading factor in her depression. Looking at factors such as income level we can assume that Jodie is struggling to make ends meet with no college degree and having just lost her job. For maximum understanding of Jodie's life, we could also examine how her age, ethnicity, gender, and multiple past marriages have influenced her life.

Psychodynamic Perspective: The view that behavior is influenced by the struggle between unconscious sexual or aggressive impulses and opposing forces that try to keep this threatening material out of consciousness.

Jodie's problems as an adult are more than likely rooted in her childhood. The trauma of having your mother die at such a young age and your father confiding in alcohol is overwhelming. Jodie has even turned to alcohol as her treatment as well. Jodie grew up believing that alcohol is the way to solve your problems, which is false. Also, Jodie missing out on her dream in life as a teenager is another thing that must weigh Jodie down often. She sees no purpose in trying to succeed at anything anymore because she thinks she lost her one shot at
