Islam is one of the largest religions today and this is how Islam started. Muhammad was from Mecca which was a spiritual place for many religions. Mecca is where Muhammad began his preaching. Mount Hira was where Muhammad first realized their was one god, Allah in the year 610 CE. Muhammad was sent away in the year 622 CE and came back to Mecca in 628 CE with all of his new followers to continue preaching to other people. He died 4 years later in 632 CE. Muhammad learned that their was one god named Allah and began to preach in Mecca. The people of Mecca were worried that Muhammad's preaching would scare of the Pagans. The caliph have their role to make sure that Islam stays pure and that there will be no changes to the religion (Document E). The caliph needs to make sure there will be no change to the religion because the rules that were set up were likable to other Muslims. Because of this, Islam spread quickly because people would like how the religion stayed the same throughout the years and would want to convert because of how pure Islam is. After the defeat of the Byzantines, the Islamic Empire took over the land the Byzantines had for many years (Document F). After the Muslims took over, the people of the Byzantine Empire told the Muslims how much they loved being under the Muslim rule and that they were willing to help pay the taxes the Muslims needed. This helped Islam spread quickly because the people loved the religion and wanted to be under the Muslim rule which would have people want to convert. Verse 2:188 in the Qu’ran states that personal property will be protected (Document B). During this time period, people were always taking other people’s stuff and people need there things to live and survive. For this reason, Islam spread quickly because people would be excited to know that their property is protected and will convert to keep their stuff safe. Verse 33:35 of the Qu’ran talks about if people respect God with certain qualities, they will get rewarded (Document B). Anyone who follow the Islam religion can get a reward as long as they are kind to God. This means that anyone including women who did not have many rights have a chance to get a reward.
