All humans have different opinions and beliefs but we were put on this earth for one sole purpose which is to love and reproduce to keep our population growing. Every human has that in common, our brains make chemicals to make us love and we learn to love through our genetics. These chemicals are what drives our desire to have children and a family. The archetype Lover is a person who is looking for their special someone and they are so passionate about them. They believe that the key to true happiness is falling in love and will never give up searching until they find the person that is perfect for them. For example Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare shows us powerful feelings that come with being in love and final meeting your soulmate. The play is about two lovers Romeo and Juliet who have fallen in love with each other but cannot be together because their from different families who have been fighting for years. In the end of the play Romeo ends up killing himself because he believes that his one true love has died, when Juliet wakes from her “fake death” she then also kills herself because she cannot live without Romeo. This text has the archetype Lover with in it, which are Romeo and Juliet. They both end up committing suicide because they believe they will never be happy without each other, which is exactly what the archetype lover portrays. These two souls who are so in love believe that there is only one solution to not being together. This shows us that humans are made to love because they are will to do anything for each other. In act 2 scene 2 it states “O, speak again, bright angel! For thou art As glorious to this night, being o'er my head, as is a wingèd messenger of heaven. Unto the white, upturnèd, wondering eyes of mortals that fall back to gaze on him when he bestrides the lazy-puffing clouds and sails upon the bosom of the air” (2). This portion of Romeo and Juliet is a great example of true and pure love. Here Juliet is saying how Romeo is so perfect he resembles an angle and she loves and wants to be with him. Juliet is being perfectly normal because we are meant to love and clearly she is on the right path of falling in love, rather than developing hatred.
