The cables that hold the bridge up are 16 in or 41 cm thick and is 3,460 feet long. That is only about one third the length of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge is also 277 feet tall, again only about one third the height of the Golden Gate.The Brooklyn Bridge is pretty small, but the height doesn’t mean anything to its unique shape and style. It also proves that it played a major role in history because it showed present bridge builders how to make bridges more stable and more pleasing to the eye.
