Americans Are Too Dependent on Technology “Revolution” is a popular television series that showed the world a picture of life without technology. It depicts a post-apocalyptic world where wars rage and people are in survival mode. This world came to be after power grids crashed and all technology failed. It shows how people struggle to relearn basic instinct and remember how to live without relying on computers. It raises an excellent question: what would happen if this event were to occur in real life? America, a country once based on industry and physical labor, today is a world entirely dependent on technology. Phones need to be put down, computers and televisions need to be turned off. Real relationships must be modeled so younger generations can learn how to have healthy friendships, professional relationships, and marriages. It is scary to think about what the future holds if this path is continued. The post apocalyptic world presented in “Revolution” may be a scary thing to digest, but reality seems to be the true horror. What good could come out of a world lacking communication and relationships, a world ruled by technology?
