Are Video Games Hazardous to Your Health?

The issue whether video games are detrimental or beneficial is important. This topic is debatable because video games have been portrayed in a negative light for years. Research shows that video games can also help improve the human mind in several aspects. Video games are helpful in cognitive development, pain management and physiotherapy/occupational therapy. Video games would no longer be treated as a useless activity but one that could change the lives of many people worldwide.
My opinion on the issue is that video games do not cause violent behavior. I personally have been playing video games since I was in elementary. I am not violent, and I have never been in trouble with the law. Video games have taught me to be more social, it helped me with memory and multitasking. …show more content…

Research shows that playing video games can be beneficial in teaching children how to follow directions, multi-task, solve problems and learn strategy and anticipation. To advance in a game a player must learn to follow instructions and limitations of the game. When games become more complicated, a player must manipulate different ideas and keep track of all the changing features on the game. Video games prompt quick thinking. Gamers are more adapted to their environment and can navigate and keep track of family and friends in crowds.
