Coming into this class I knew that it was going to be hard since writing has always been a challenge to me and this class was not the exception, however choosing to talk about DREAMERS hit home and allowed me to connect. When I received back my research paper I was actually in shock because I did better than I expected, of course it wasn't perfect but it was better than I imagined. A popular method in understanding dreams is to do an analysis of a dream report. I mentioned earlier that Freud would analyze his patients dreams that drew him to conclusions about the unconscious and conscious thought that are still being applied today. Two score and 13 years ago people with colored skin were being segregated for everyday activities like drinking from a water fountain and going to school. Martin Luther King and many others were tired of not getting the treatment they were promised as a whole, so Martin Luther King wrote his famous “I have a Dream” speech, to address the problem that was sweeping the nation. He wanted to persuade the nation to treat Black people with equality and respect. The black population was not going to rest until they received their rights that they were promised when Abraham Lincoln said the “Emancipation Proclamation” . King has a dream and has faith that one day everyone will be equal, everyone will have rights, and that there will be everlasting

“ Each and every night, we have access to our own personal psychotherapist-who understands us better than anyone else in the world” (Turner). Turner claims that, “ we have our own personal psychotherapist.” That means the sleeping brain counsels everyone through their hard trails. In today’s society, we believe that everything has a meaning; good, bad, or ugly. Dreams can be interpreted as many things such as: good or bad omens. Some people have dreams and seek their preacher to clarify the meaning behind the dream. Many cultures like the Babylonians, Romans, and Greeks believed that dreams were in fact messages from God. The Greeks reference Plato as to their view of dreams.
