King develops his argument by explaining the grievances that African Americans face and what must be done to eradicate the horrible actions against them. He gave this speech to create a sense of upheaval and need for justice in the people of America. One of MLK’s most useful methods of proving that discrimination based on race is an injustice is the use of allusions.

The physical act of carrying out a ritual, I believe, can impact the meaning of a dream far greater than originally intended. Performing out rituals can also influence our understanding of feelings as well. I believe this works so well because the physical act creates something physical and tangible from something that has no form. Once there is a form, we are able to manipulate it on a physical level now, whereas before it was at some sort of phycological level, we could not hold it, or feel it. One way, I found, that works great for me is simply writing it down.
What does it mean to dream? Well, I believe dreams will always remain a mystery of phenomenons that science will never be able to explain. However, we can interpret our dreams in many different aspects. Philosophers, such as Alan Watts, interpret dreams in an interesting way, such as it being an adventure (The Dream of Life). From this, I’d like to think of dreams as adventures for our minds; we’re subconsciously wandering to a new adventure every time we decide to rest our eyes.
The Declaration of Independence, The Emancipation Proclamation, and The Constitution all declared everyone of all color to be free ;however, people are still segregated and denied their rights based on the color of their skin. In the speech “I have a Dream” by Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. he persuades his audience to treat everyone (of all color) as equals and to give everyone the rights that they deserve. This speech was the most compelling because there were many rhetorical devices being used which helped emphasize the idea of all men being equal and free. It also emphasized how much he fought to be equal with no hatred in his heart.
Dreaming is a huge part of people’s lives. Dreams happen to everybody and are different to everybody. They tell a lot about a person’s life. Dreams are viewed differently by so many people. People have opinions on what makes dreams happen, what dreams are, and what they mean.
The ultimate goal of justice is slowly but surely been achieved today for the black community. A day that heavily influenced this achievement was in 1963 during the March on Washington, in front of the Lincoln Memorial. The man who changed lives that day only wanted those who heard him to apply his message to their lives. In his famous, “I Have a Dream” speech Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. uses repetition, specific, illustrative detail and examples, allusions, and figurative language in order to amplify his message that his audience needed to bond together in order to fight for civil rights and justice now. Dr. King emphasizes the fact that his dream is to achieve racial equality and justice through the use of repetition.
There have been many times in my life where I have either woken up in the middle of the night from a horrible nightmare or woke up in the morning trying to recall my dreams. I have spent a lot of time researching what my dreams mean. Although we have experienced countless dreams in our lifetime, do we ever stop to think: how dreams occur? How dreams affect our lives? Do dreams even mean anything?
Dreams are based on the dreamer’s attitude towards life. He believed dreams were deceptive. He believed dreams provided a secure environment to overcome one’s limitations without disturbing the dreamers waking life. Also a dream could depict some important aspects about the dreamer, such as how factors like power; acceptance, etc affect the relation between the dreamer and his reality/world.
The ancient Egyptians used dreams to make predictions about the future. They thought dreams were messages from the gods, which contained vital wisdom and prophecies. Similarly, people in the Western world in the 1900s used dreams to find game, predict the weather, and tell the future. In Greek and Roman eras, they interpreted dreams as messages from God or from the dead. The Chinese believed that the soul leaves the body to go into an acute place that you visit every night.
