College is one of the last steps of your education and it is hard to get into for most. Usually, college is the goal for almost all. Many people have a goal to invest and get a good education. But is it worth it trying to save so much money on college? In the U.S Constitution it states that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people" (U.S Const. Amendment X). The price of college shouldn’t be as expensive as it currently is.

First off, people deserve to be able to go to college without worrying about the price. We should all be able to get the education we need, "higher education was never meant to be an 'investment' it was meant to be a public good" (Goetz). It is normal around America that college is an 'investment'. College and higher education shouldn’t have to be so expensive. Education is an important part to lots of people. According to American Federation of Teachers "college should foster social solidarity and a spirit of equity among students. It should enable young adults to use their educations for creative, collaborative social experiments. The right to the future is a claim to the possibility of generational reinvention. In this moment, we need young people's leadership more than ever" (Zaloom). This clearly proves that college teaches young adults lots of important skills for their future. Throughout the time young adults are at college, they explore lots of new things and develop into adults. College is essential because you can go to certain classes and get a major dedicated to where and what you want to be in the future as an adult.
