Short Paper #3: Comparative Analysis On March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), or commonly called Obamacare, into law. The law was the largest overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system since 1965 (wikipedia.com). Through the legislation, Americans have easier, more affordable access to health insurance. At the same time, though, there were many mandates and subsidies that required a new tax to be implemented. The tax and mandates’ constitutionality were in question.
ABC, NBC, Fox, World News, CNN, etc. All over on these popular news stations, they are reporting on ObamaCare or The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It’s bad, it’s good; it’s the worst, it’s going to fail, we hate it, it’s the best, we love it. Such contradictions, what are we to believe? ObamaCare, what is it?
Mr. President, as your health policy advisor, it is my duty provide you with strategic approach on improving health care and the healthcare system. While the United States Constitution and Supreme Court interpretations do not identify a constitutional right to health care for those who cannot afford it, Congress has enacted numerous statutes, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, that establish and define specific statutory rights of individuals to receive health care services from the government. Therefore, Mr. President is it our duty to ensure the ACA is repealed in its entirety and that the repeal will benefit the American people and not just certain groups of individuals. Even though, I am not a fan of individual mandate as it imposes penalties for not having health insurance, I believe its benefit outweighs the penalties and or fines.
Nearly every citizen of the United States (U.S.) can attest to the fact the current election does not have a perfect candidate running for office. Most people will also agree that this election is incredibly significant because it will determine the path that this country takes. With all this in mind the first candidate running for the office is Hillary Clinton on the Democrat and liberal side. She has a strong background in politics, including her position as Secretary of State for the U.S. for four years, being the First Lady during Bill Clinton’s two term presidency, and being a senator for New York during a 9 near period. The other candidate is Donald Trump on the Republican and conservative side.

Those citizens lacking an adequate health insurance policy for any part of the year incur a tax penalty collected by the IRS via the tax return process (IRS, 2016). According to Weil (2016), of the Library of Economics and Liberty, fiscal policy is the government influencing the economy with taxes or government spending.
Patient protection and Affordable Care Act ,commonly known as Obamacare, was passed in its finality on March 21, 2010 and signed into law by former President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Many disliked the idea of Obamacare due to the fact that it was forced on employers to pay for health insurance. It got shut down by the people's views on it quick , Obamacare wasn't really given a chance. Thought it had a great deal of benefits people just choose to focus on the negative parts. Which brings up a lawsuit like Obamacare Versus The Little Sisters of the Poor.
One of the things i found a bit surprising and a little alarming is if a person is healthy and can 't exactly pay for insurance for affordability reason then they may not obtain health insurance all together, also if a person has a specific illness or disease they are practically forced to pay high prices for their medication and appointments and monthly premiums and in turn may not be able to provide food for their families because they have to decide to but medications and try to stay alive or buy food and try to survive. Both interviewees seemed frustrated disappointed with the inequality of the health care system and the rates associated with receiving care and health care insurance. Something i noticed between the two was that they both were extremely passionate on finding a way for the United States to receive some sort of universals health care system that was inexpensive but preferably free. When the topic of cost came about they seemed to give detailed experiences dealing with the health care system and how it wasn 't affordable to them and how there were times they couldn 't receive the needed care get the needed
America today is striving to make our country stronger as a whole. Many people in our country struggle every day for the items needed in one’s life. Welfare is the health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group. Welfare, for many, is very beneficial and provides the food and shelter they need, but many people take advantage of the things they receive. Welfare is different in each person’s situation, such as people using it in different manners.
Health care should not be considered a political argument in America; it is a matter of basic human rights. Something that many people seem to forget is that the US is the only industrialized western nation that lacks a universal health care system. The National Health Care Disparities Report, as well as author and health care worker Nicholas Conley and Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), strongly suggest that the US needs a universal health care system. The most secure solution for many problems in America, such as wasted spending on a flawed non-universal health care system and 46.8 million Americans being uninsured, is to organize a national health care program in the US that covers all citizens for medical necessities.
Health insurance is one of the main insurances ones can have in life. Without reliable health insurance any small treatment can wipe out a person financially. " health insurance is a type of insurance coverage that pays for medical and surgical expenses that are incurred by the insured" as defined by Investopedia, 2015. The term ‘Health insurance’ was firstly discovered in the United States during the civil war.
Immigration activists decided to protest the stalling of President Obama's executive order, which would have given deportation relief to millions of undocumented immigrants. It's a peaceful protest that involves publicly fasting for nine days across the street from 5th U.S. Circuit Court in New Orleans. Protesters are intent on convincing the judges to make a decision as soon as possible, because as more time goes by without a ruling, the less likely it becomes that the case will ever make it to the Supreme Court. There are an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the U.S., and President Obama's plan would give deportation relief to almost 5 million of them, according to the International Business Times. The United States of America’s economic structure has always been changing. In all of these gradual and natural changes, there are underlining walls that are set up in terms of the economy functioning as a whole. Social security has been one of the biggest aspects to our economic system. Acting as a parent, it makes a citizen put some funds aside for the future. Recently, the citizens and some elected officials have questioned its legitimacy in today’s society.
Millions of Americans receive government aid such as welfare every year. Of those Americans who are on welfare, many are unemployed. Some people may need welfare because they don’t make enough money to support their families. However, the amount of money spent on welfare every year is tremendous. Welfare should be taken away from those who don’t work.
On Socialized Healthcare Free healthcare for everyone! Promises like this for socialized healthcare have been made by politicians like Bernie Sanders, have sparked movements in the US, and have been implemented in many countries. Now what is “socialized healthcare”? It goes by many names: single payer healthcare, universal healthcare, and my least favorite, free healthcare. At its core socialized healthcare means that the government pays for the people’s healthcare.
Besides, there was not necessary of the constitutional amendment because the right to bear arms had missing its own usefulness. It is because the violent crime and a large proportion of this violent is gun-related. United States has one of the highest rates. The gun violence had incorporate the biggest volume of violence in the United States according to the U.S Department of Justice. For example, in 1995, about 60.3% of homicides involved handguns, and 68 % involved guns; in 1996, about 34500 people unfortunately passed away from gunfire in United States, and of these deaths, approximately 45% resulted from homicides.
