Animal rights has been a long-debated topic that continues to cause controversy over many things in society today. For a long time, there have been people who believed that animals should be treated more fairly, if not treated equally, to humans. While animals cannot speak and have been a main food source for thousands of years, some people believe they are not meant to be food. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is one of the largest animal rights activist groups in the world. They have been known to publicly make statements directed towards a specific person or group, without directly saying the name of the targeted person or group. One of PETA’s biggest constraints with this commercial was that they did not have a very specific audience or target audience for this rhetorical situation, they were just trying to reach as many people as they could and make as big of an impression as possible. There were definitely many constraints for this situation as well. PETA wanted to make an impression, but they also did not want any extremely negative results. Therefore, they had an audience constraint they could not do anything extremely graphic because families watch the Super Bowl together and people are usually eating so that would be bad for them. They had a time constraint because commercials can only be so long, and they had a budget constraint because they could only spend so much money to produce the commercial and they could only spend so much money on air time for the
