While many teams have had their share of good seasons and Super Bowl victories no other franchise in the league has had the performance of the Steelers. In the forty eight years since the merger the Steelers have had a winning season thirty years. During the offseason the team has very little drama and trains to the best of their ability so that they can perform well the next season. Six games a year are against the divisional rivals and are key to making the playoffs and the Steelers are always managing to win those games and top out their division. Of course the regular season is a qualifier for the playoffs which are the most important part of the year.
Since the Steelers are always performing well in the regular season this means that they also regularly make it to the playoffs. They are tied with the Cowboys for the most playoff game appearances with sixty two. At the same time they also have two more wins than the Cowboys with thirty six. After winning their playoff games they move on to the Super Bowl. The Steelers have the most Super Bowl victories of any franchise in the league. They have won six Lombardi trophies. Other teams such as the Patriots have appeared in more Super Bowls with ten appearances but they have only won five all during the Brady/Belichick era. The Steelers are the only team in the league to win two Super Bowls in a row
