This brought concern due to the fact that the floor mats could potentially interfere with unintended acceleration. In the 1946-69, all volkswagen vehicles had issues with their windshield wipers. The last problem found in foreign made vehicles was in the 1986-91 Honda Civic (Table). Once the seat belts were buckled, people had a hard time getting them to un-buckle. Essentially, there was a seatbelt jam issue causing concern. Out of all of these foreign car recalls, none of them caused death or injuries of any kind. In a sense, Americans feel as if it is wrong to favor foreign cars over domestic cars. As americans we have the right to make certain decisions without and restraint or guilt. Although the Buy American Act restricts Americans to only buying domestic products, every American has the right to chose what will be best for them. Not everyone has to follow the Buy American Act as it is just a suggestion. In the long run, Americans have the choice of whether or not they want to purchase either a foreign or domestic vehicle. However, purchasing a foreign vehicle would be highly beneficial for various reasons. It will ensure a longer lasting vehicle and potentially save money. If an individual remains unsure about which vehicle to purchase, simply weighing the pros and cons of each vehicle and further educating themselves will help them to decide whether or not foreign cars are more reliable and cost
