Raging like a swollen river, the Gun Control debate has quickly taken center stage in our country. Swirling in a pandemonium of facts, fallacies, emotions, and lies, how can we pick through this issue from a Christian perspective? Even the Bible offers no direct answer. However, by wading with our knowledge of sinful nature into this river, a glimmer of light appears. Once imbedded on a firm foundation, we can view through the crystal lens of God’s Word and utilize the logic that He has given us to sort through the mud and find the nugget of truth.
People who don 't believe in the need of stricter or new laws concerning guns argue that owning a gun doesn 't cause a crime, it deters it. Guns are necessary for protection and to be able to defend oneself and their family in case of attacks because the government isn 't able to take care of every individual, in conclusion there’s no other way to guarantee one’s safety but to arm oneself. If the gun laws were different and if it was harder to buy these kind of weapons, criminals would find other ways to arm themselves, people argue, consequently it is necessary for ones safety to be able to own a gun.
Gun Control Think of all of the advantages people could have by owning and knowing how to use a gun. A gun could help people to survive on their own, to kill their own food, to protect their family, and they would not have to rely on anyone else to get them food. Too many people are dependent, but if everyone had a gun, knew how to correctly and safely use it everyone would be a whole lot more independent. If we have guns we can protect ourselves, family members, friends, and our other loved ones.
The Parkland Shooting is what most would refer to as a “focusing event”, and hope would be the time for change in stricter gun control from the attention its receiving. Moreover, countries such as Canada, Great Britain, and Australia all have fairly strict gun laws in comparison to the United States that were put in place not long after their very own focusing events. The demand for stricter legislation grew after each traumatizing event. In comparison, opponents of gun “control” in the United States view it as the idea that all guns must be confiscated; gun ownership should cease to exist. It is viewed as way to disarm citizens, making them defenseless to those who intend to harm and the government itself.
Gun control has been a hot topic for quite some time now. It seems like every week we hear about another shooting or proposal on the subject. Actually, these things probably happen more frequently than that, and we just don’t hear about them or don’t bother to watch the news (which is a problem in itself). But you see, even more frequently than the shootings or proposed regulations on guns, we hear debate about them. There’s people on one side that are 2nd amendment supporters through and through, and people on the other side that completely oppose guns.
Gun Control. Some when they hear this they automatically think “You ain’t touching my guns” But I think that what we need to understand is that gun control isn’t the government taking away your guns its controlling and placing restrictions on who can get the guns. I personally think that we need tighter restrictions on guns because of the recent tragedies we have had and continue to have in mass shootings, many argue that gun control would be against our 2nd amendment but as I said before we wouldn’t be bannig them just making it harder for certain people to attain them, with gun restrictions we can reduce these death rates and I honestly think that it would be worth at least giving a try. Mass shootings occurred throughout history, but has become a major problem now.
The government has been very instrumental in coming up with policies aimed at reducing deaths among children who wrongly use the guns as well as crimes related to suicide by the gun holders. What really is not clear is how effective these policies have been in the reduction of cases relating to accidental juvenile use of the guns as well as suicides. This has led to the need to take a closer look at the policies enacted and how beneficial they are to the citizens of the United States. The government needs to make the policies more effective and ensure that the gun holders meet the gun control policies to ensure that the cases involving wrongful use of the guns by children as well as gun holders committing suicide are reduced.
Consistently, guns have been misused by the citizens there should be law where everyone can keep the rights to firearm but still safe for others. Political and federal needs to come together and agree to set laws and rules on gun control. In today 's news, we have watched mass events occur and don 't have full information, but sadly it was used by guns. In other words, many issues involve guns, such as racisms, safety, mental illness, and not enough knowledge on gun rights. However, gun control is only a concern when some mass shootings happens such as: school shootings, airports, clubs, hotels, churches, malls, etc.
Gun control has been an idea since the 1800s, Gun regulations can be good and bad. History has shown that banning firearms from the populace led to disaster and civil unrest. ¨We the People¨ in the United States are very divided when it comes to dealing with gun control and regulations for gun ownership. Banning guns increase fatalities, decreases personal protection and safety, and prohibits citizens from their constitutional rights.
The constitution was written to secure the rights and protect the people, “We The People,” of the United States as our fore-father, the colonist, have fought and declare their independence from Great Britain on July 4th 1776. Great Britain implemented injustice taxes like the Stamp Act to force the colonist to pay for debts they spent for the French Indian War. The constitution was written as a guide for the government to uphold their oath and to protect the rights of its citizens. However, many American today, 2016, believe that the government are progressively stripping many rights from Americans.
One reason why guns should be regulated is because criminals or anyone can get a gun and cause destruction. For Instance, the sandy hook shooting caused by Adam Lanza. Adam Lanza an autistic boy carried a massacre on the Connecticut School Sandy Hook. This shooting killed around 26 boys and girls including adults of the school according to the dailynews.com. Another Example is
Looking at the issue of gun rights, I am a firm believer that this right should strictly be a state issue. There are various factors that can play a great role in the culture of each state. Things such as population density, geography, morality, childhood, political status, and religion impact states and the way they function. If each state shared the same law related to gun rights, it would ultimately defeat the goal of allowing each state to create laws based on their culture, and would most likely become a federal law, limiting the right of some. Being born and raised in Wyoming, I see no issues with all citizens having the right to bear arms.
“Those who make the peaceful revolution impossible make the violent revolution inevitable.” -John F. Kennedy. Peace is a national concept that many of the population of the world want and/or need. However, with lightness, there is always a darkness to match it, more specifically, dealing with guns. Gun control is enforced strongly to keep many countries safe.
Many ask, do we need more gun control or less? It is clear that less gun control will not only prevent an increase in murder
