According to the Federal Bureau of Investigations, there have been various cases in which people were murdered due to firearms from 2010 to 2014. This chart calculates each case that they have on file that is relevant to this topic. There have been 11,961 murders in 2014 and 8,124 of them were from firearms. This alone does not seem as big of a number to most since we have hundreds of millions of people who reside in the United States alone. This topic should still be sensitive to everyone, what if that was someone you loved, then the topic would be a sensitive case.
Take notice that in 2010 there were 13,164 murders and that 8,874 of them were because of firearms, which gets higher then lower again until the year 2014. This is good news, but work still remains to be done.

The proof is right here that there are multiple incidents that relate to firearms. Even though the amount generally decreases over the years. We do notice that in incidents where the firearm is not stated has increased over the years, which is a significant trend. It seems like the more that violence occurs with firearms, the more no one knows anything. There is a misconception that the public tends to be in favor of everything that benefits them as individuals.
