I am applying to work for the campaign of Annalise Keating running for the Lt. Governor’s Office in Texas for the Republican primary in 2018. I would be happy to be working with a woman who has spent the last ten years working in the Texas Senate. Unlike her opponent and the current Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, who has strong ties to the extreme conservative wing of the Republican Party and the Tea Party. I would be a great asset to this campaign due to the fact I have an expertise on women with elections, the central elements when running for office, the importance of women once in office, and the impact of women once in office. This quote demonstrates that no matter what party identification you have, you as a woman have a right to chase any opportunity you want regardless of your gender. Although a democrat, Hilary Clinton, the first women as a presidential nominee, showed women across the nation that nothing is impossible and it does not matter what gender you are to have a career in something that was always considered as a “man job.” According to the website, CNN, Republican women organize to support Clinton, “It has been tough for me to come to this point where I can vote for a candidate who has been very against what I've been working for most of my professional career," said Meghan Milloy, who works for the conservative American Action Forum think tank and has formerly campaigned for Republicans like Trent Lott, Mitt Romney and Haley Barbour. Those issues trigged women from the Republican Party to join forces with Hilary Clinton due to the fact they did not want their children whether boy or girl to believe that a man running for president can treat and talk about women like that no matter how important you are. The importance of women in office vital to society because they can bring up women issues and become role models for young girls. According to Ford Chapter 4, “This study found that where there are more female MPs, adolescent girls are more likely to discuss politics with friends and to say that they will participate in politics as adults.
