Suffrage for Women

In order to achieve their suffrage, women went through struggle, but they had spirit, which aided their protest for change, and in the end they succeeded and got what they deserved as humans. The women of the United States felt that they needed to be treated equally to men, and I agree with their thoughts because, there should be no difference between genders because that would mean that they are discriminating them because of their gender which is sexist and unfair. Because they did not have their rights to vote, they felt that they needed to do something about it, to prove to the people and the men of society that it is wrong and that reform is necessary to make women vote. …show more content…

The purpose for their protest was to show that they wanted change and they weren’t going to take no for an answer. They portrayed their feelings in many different ways, however it started Seneca Falls, New York. In Seneca Falls, 1840, there was a convention known as the Seneca Falls convention and you could say that it was the spark for them in order to ignite what they started. It really opened their minds about how mistreated they were because this convention included the discussion of social, and civil conditions and women rights. The march that took place in New York in 1911 was effective because it included 3000 people protesting for change and with such a great number, they gave society and the government a piece of their mind. The most known parade, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, is the Women Suffrage Parade of 1913. Even though the people were very mistreated they did not fall down and kept moving along, because their spirit was impenetrable. Once again they portrayed their thoughts and emotions and revealed to society how much they thought they should have suffrage, and unfortunately they horrible police did not agree, and showed their disagreement with their harassment and beatings to the participants of the
