Properly Funding Education In America, the people and government finance public education together; however, most of these costs fall on property taxes from the people. Subsidies from the government inadequately cover the gap created by small property taxes, as the federal budget focuses on things such as military funding. With an insufficient combination, low funds for schools harshly affects students. Trimmed art and extracurricular programs, stymied curriculums, stressed teachers, and less attention paid to the students lead to a poor learning experience for the children. Children aren’t able to find their true potential through the education system they had been in for the past 12 years. They don’t develop critical thinking skills or explore their interests far enough to pursue them. In comparison to the past, a strong education brought America many of the world’s leading business people and scientists. It gave the United States the necessary resources to be a world power. However, finding the next generation of such in America is hard if students do not have the proper education when they’re younger.

Other countries are catching up, thanks to their own investments into public education for the entire population. The United States, on the other hand, is still struggling to properly finance and fund many schools across the country, leading to numerous unfortunate effects. This includes a lack of extracurricular activities and arts, out of date technology and materials, and more, leading to a weakened quality of education and poor development of necessary skills to succeed in today's world. Gifted students that may be vital for America’s future are harmed by insufficient opportunities for them to thrive. In the end, for America to stay a world power, it must invest more into public education for the children that are severely affected by poor
