Like American Society, High School has always been a game. Competition has found its way through generations of generations, either bringing us together, or tearing us apart. Lombardi states that “Winning is indeed everything”. In most cases, it is. It’s safe to say that no matter how far society evolves, or how the next generation is raised, we will always want to win. American society is a direct representation of Lombardi's famous quote, proving that to the well being of our childhood games and social platforms like Instagram, sadly, winning is indeed everything. High school is a game. Children have always been afraid of high school. The fact that bullying is even an option has struck our thoughts with fear. Kids hurt others to make themselves feel better. People can barely put down their phones. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian (and mainly the Kardashians) live lives of competition. Today's society has become narcissistic through social media. Social media is the true hierarchy of the twenty first century. If a person is high on the chain from cornucopias amounts of “likes” and “followers”, they have considerably won the golden crown of social media.The individuals who don’t have thousands of followers, or possibly don't even have social media are considered losers.
