It’s hard to see why cannabis is still illegal in the country. Marijuana is a very prominent and controversial issue in society today. As a kid growing up, you’re constantly told of the dangers of drugs, and since it is illegal, marijuana is drag and therefor it is dangerous.Marijuana is a drug that is always being talked about all over the media, debating on whether it should be legalized or not. It’s estimated that the tax revenue generated from marijuana would be upwards of $2.4 billion annually if it were taxed like everyday goods, and as high as $6.2 billion annually if it were taxed like alcohol and tobacco. The use of Marijuana has always been questioned but now is the time our country is at a time where the usage of the drug is at a peak and the issue needs to be addressed. It is no longer acceptable to not consider legalization because states within the country have already taken matters into their own hands but making it legal.
